Buffalo Screwed

Bob MacKenzie just said on TV that there will be a "great debate in the offseason" about the puck-over-glass delay-of-game rule.

I disagree. There will be no debate. This asinine rule will be tossed in the bin. Swept under the rug. It will disappear completely from the NHL vernacular. Let us never speak of it again.

Jeff-

I would have to agree with you. Every team has both fallen victim to and reaped the benefits of this curious penalty, and I think one season of bewilderment is probably enough. I don't like the idea of chipping the puck over the glass to stop the clock, but I really detest seeing a 5 on 4 penalty kill turn into a 5 on 3 because the defenders were honestly trying to clear the zone.

I've seen the suggestion bantered about (I don't remember where) that the ensuing faceoff would be treated as if an icing call. This is more appropriate to the crime, maybe? It's certainly more palatable to me in any event.
